Verizon has released an update for the system software on the Motorola Droid 2. This includes a number of improvements, the most notable of which is a promise of a better battery life.

To install this update, users of this Motorola smartphone should go to Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates > Download on the device, and then following the on-screen prompts.

Overview of the Motorola Droid 2
This high-end Android OS smartphone from Verizon is a slider with a 3.7-inch WVGA display and a landscape-oriented keyboard.
Because it has Android OS 2.2, this smartphone has a very capable web browser, email software, music and video player, and the the web browser supports Adobe Flash.
The Droid 2 can connect to Verizon's 3G (EV-DO Rev. A) network, and it includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It can also act as a mobile hotspot.
It has a 5 megapixel camera with a flash, 8 GB of on-board storage as well as an 8 GB microSD/SDHC memory card.
The Motorola Droid 2 is selling for $200 with a new or renewed two-year service contract.
