The HTC Droid Incredible has been a top seller for Verizon Wireless this year, and now those who are interested in this high-end Android OS smartphone can get it at its lowest price ever: free with a service contract.
The online retailer Wirefly is offering this device with no money down for new Verizon customers as well as current ones who qualify for an upgrade subsidy.
Amazon.com also has the Droid Incredible for free only to those who are switching the Verizon to get it. This online store price for current Verizon customers is $50.
Getting any of these prices requires a new or renewed two-year wireless service contract.
Overview of the HTC Droid Incredible
This smartphone has a tablet shape designed around a 3.7-inch WVGA (480 x 800) touchscreen.
The HTC Droid Incredible runs Google's Android OS 2.2 on a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. HTC's Sense user interface is layered on top.
It also has 8 GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, a GPS receiver, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and support for Verizon's 3G mobile broadband network.
The smartphone costs $200 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement, and customers will need to subscribe to both a voice and data plan.
The HTC Droid Incredible is exclusively available from Verizon Wireless, but AT&T and T-Mobile customers can turn to the Google Nexus One, an almost identical device. Sprint users should check out the HTC Evo 4G.
