Apple has given developers the final version of iOS 4.2, which means that the release to the general public is imminent.
This system software upgrade for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch is going to bring support for printing and other features.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs first took the wraps off iOS 4.2 back at the beginning of September, when he said it would be introduced in November. It appears his company is right on schedule.
More about Apple iOS 4.2
This new version is going to be for the most recent version of Apple's smartphone and handheld, as well as its tablet.
The most significant new feature iPhone and iPod touch is going to be AirPrint, which will allow these devices to send print jobs to wireless printers that supports this feature.
iOS 4.2 will be an even more significant upgrade for the iPad, as this tablet computer is still running iOS 3.1. In addition to support for AirPrint, it will also bring multitasking and application folders.
