Apple iOS 4.2 Release May Have Been Pushed Back by a Serious Bug

The debut of iOS 4.2 is scheduled for some time this month, and information that recently leaked out of Apple indicated that it will be available today. However, a new unconfirmed report says that the launch has been pushed back because a serious bug was found in the iPad version.

Apple gave the Golden Master version of iOS 4.2 to developers last week,  and some of the people testing this on the iPad ran into into problems connecting to the Internet over a Wi-Fi connection. This bug has been discussed in numerous online forums in the last few days.

As a result, Apple is reportedly delaying the release of the new version of its operating system for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The debut has been pushed back at least a week, but Apple supposedly still intends to have it out before Thanksgiving.

This new version is going to be for the most recent versions of Apple's smartphone and handheld, as well as its tablet.

The most significant new feature iPhone and iPod touch is going to be AirPrint, which will allow these devices to send print jobs to wireless printers that supports this feature.

iOS 4.2 will be an even more important upgrade for the iPad, as this tablet computer is still running iOS 3.2. In addition to support for AirPrint, it will also bring multitasking and application folders.
