Apple iTunes 10.1 Debuts, iOS 4.2 Takes a Step Closer to Release

Apple has introduced iTunes 10.1. Among other new features, the update brings support for synchronizing with devices running iOS 4.2. This new version of this company's mobile operating system is still AWOL, however.

Apple has committed to releasing iOS 4.2 this month, and the debut was supposedly going to happen yesterday, but a serious bug was found in the iPad version of this operating system upgrade. This has pushed back the the release for at least a week.

Reports from developers indicate that Apple sent out a new version of this upgrade late yesterday for testing.

In the mean time, people can install iTunes 10.1, which includes some bug fixes. It also has support for the new AirPlay service, which allows users to wirelessly stream videos from iTunes to the all-new Apple TV.

Updating this new version simply requires running the app and telling it to check for a new version.
