Nokia E7 Delayed Until Next Year

The release of the Nokia E7, this company's flagship business smartphone, has been pushed back until at least January.

A last-minute discovery of a hardware issue is apparently to blame for the delay of this Symbian^3-powered device. However, exactly what the problem is has yet to be made clear.

Nokia says the E7 will hit store shelves in "early 2011".

This smartphone will feature a slide-and-tilt display and a large sliding keyboard. The 4-inch, AMOLED display will have a 640 x 360 pixel resolution.

The E7 is going to run the latest version of the Symbian OS, and come with a range of business-oriented software, allowing users to work on Microsoft Office files via the Quickoffice app. It will also support Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

This phone will be able to connect to the 3G bands used in the United States (AT&T and T-Mobile) as well as the ones used in the rest of the world. It is also going to include Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.

The E7 is going to include an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash as well as a front-facing VGA camera for video conferencing.

Other features will include a USB-to-go port, an HDMI video-out port, and a 1200 mAh battery.

This Nokia model will sell for EUR 495 in Europe.
