A new free version of Wyse PocketCloud has just been released. This app allows iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users to control a distant PC or Mac over an Internet connection.
Although smartphones and tablets have grown increasingly powerful, they still can't do everything that a full desktop computer can. With a remote access app, users of one of Apple's mobile devices can remotely control their computer to access files or run software.
PocketCloud makes an iPhone or iPad act as if its screen and keyboard are the screen and keyboard of the distant desktop computer. It will run over a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
This app doesn't have all the features of its top competitor, LogMeIn Ignition, but it has one inarguable advantage: it's free.
Availability
Wyse PocketCloud Free is available now in the Apple App Store, and the Windows and Mac OS X clients can be downloaded from Wyse's website.
