Europe Will See Release of LG Optimus 2X First

Europeans may get a taste of the first dual-core processor smartphone before Americans, as LG announced that its Optimus 2X, will be coming to Europe in January.  Which European countries will see the release, however, remains a mystery.

LG made the announcement yesterday while unveiling its collaboration with Ennio Morricone; the Optimus 2X will come pre-loaded with 25 music tracks and ringtones from a musician best known for music soundtracks.

The Optimus 2X will reportedly not be seeing a stateside release until sometime in March, and judging from unconfirmed reports, it will initially be available to T-Mobile customers.

The LG smartphone will feature an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor that clocks in at 1 GHz, a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, an 8 GB removable microSD card, and rear- and front-facing cameras.

Previous rumors have indicated that the Optimus 2X will launch with Google's Android OS 2.2 and will be upgradeable to the latest version, Android OS 2.3 (codenamed Gingerbread).
