Update: Apple has recently announced the iPhone 5, which will be the biggest and fastest version yet.
AT&T is now offering the iPhone 4, Apple's latest smartphone with 16 GB of storage, for just $99 with a two-year wireless service contract. That's half the usual price.
There's a catch, though: the units being sold at this price have been refurbished. These are devices that have been previously purchased and then returned within 30 days. AT&T describes them as being "lightly used", and they have been quality checked before going back up for sale.
iPhone 4 (16 GB) units with visible scratches or other cosmetic blemishes are available for even less: $79 with contract.
The refurb version of this model with 32 GB of storage capacity is $199, which is also $100 off the regular price. This device with visible damage now sells for $179.
Previously, refurb iPhones cost $149 or $249, depending on version.
This is an unusual opportunity to get a smartphone from Apple at less than the regular price, as this company almost never puts this product for sale.
To place an order for one of these devices, go to the AT&T website.
An Overview of the Apple iPhone 4
This smartphone has a 3.5-inch, 960 x 640 touchscreen, and it's also one of the first smartphones with a front-facing camera, allowing users to make video calls.
The iPhone 4 runs iOS 4.2, on a 1 GHz Apple A4 processor.
It has a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with a flash, and the device also has 3G wireless networking, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.
