HTC Inspire 4G Headed for AT&T

HTC has given the world an early glimpse of an Android OS smartphone that's going to be offered by AT&T. Few details are currently available on the HTC Inspire 4G, however.

UPDATE: AT&T has now pre-announced the HTC Inspire 4G, revealing many of the details on this upcoming model. It has also given some details on two other 4G models. More information is available in this article:

AT&T Pre-announces Three Android OS Smartphones

This model is in an advertisement in Rolling Stone magazine for HTC's 4G smartphones. It shows the already-available HTC EVO 4G from Sprint and the T-Mobile G2, but the AT&T device comes as a complete surprise.

About all that can be determined is that the Inspire 4G will have a tablet shape dominated by a large touchscreen. It will apparently run Google's Android OS with HTC's Sense user interface layered on top.

It's not clear what HTC means by putting "4G" in the product name, as AT&T isn't going to roll out its 4G network based on the LTE standard until this summer.

At this point, all the specifications of the HTC Inspire 4G remain a mystery.

Another unannounced HTC smartphone in the Rolling Stone ad is the HTC ThunderBolt, which Verizon is expected to unveil on Thursday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Its possible AT&T also intends to announce its 4G model at this same tradeshow.
