Samsung Epic 4G from Sprint Gets Price Cut

The Samsung Epic 4G just got an epic price drop, as Sprint has lowered the subsidized price of the smartphone from $250 to $200 with a 2-year contract.

Initially, the Epic 4G debuted at a price that was higher than usual, at $250 subsidized and $600 unsubsidized. But with the price drop, Sprint's WiMAX-enabled device is now available for a cost much closer to average for a high-end smartphone.

The Epic 4G is a slider with a 4-inch, WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen and a 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. Running Google Android OS 2.1, the Epic 4G has 512 MB of RAM, as well as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA camera for video conferencing.

Other features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a six-axis motion sensor, a proximity sensor, an included 16 GB microSD card (expandable up to 32 GB), a GPS receiver, Swype text entry, and the ability to serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five other devices.
