Leaked Images Shed More Light on Sidekick 4G

Not long after the return of the Sidekick in 4G form was confirmed by T-Mobile, some pictures of the device leaked out and have now hit the Internet.

Beyond what was already known about the Sidekick 4G -- including that it will have HSPA+ support and feature its trademark flip screen and QWERTY keyboard -- the images, confirm a few more details about the upcoming smartphone.

First is the confirmation of the reports that the Sidekick 4G will be manufactured by Samsung, as the company's logo is visibly etched on the back of the device.

Additionally, the pictures clearly show that the smartphone is equipped with a front-facing camera, indicating that it will most likely have video chat capabilities.

Also, previous rumors that the Sidekick 4G will run Android OS 2.2 have been confirmed by the images, which show that the device is running version 2.2.1 of the Google OS.

Whether or not the Sidekick 4G will feature its own user interface overlay for this operating system's standard one has yet to be seen. Such overlays are common on devices running Google's OS.

Most of the details of this model are still a mystery, such as its screen size and resolution, storage capacity, processor speed, and much more.

A release date for this model is also unknown, aside from a promise from T-Mobile USA's CEO Philipp Humm that it is "Coming Soon".
