The Nokia E7, which was originally scheduled to launch late last year, is finally going to start reaching customer's hands this week.
This business-oriented device is going to run Symbian^3 and sport a large display and keyboard.
Although Nokia announced today that the E7 is going to start shipping this week "in select markets", one of those markets is not the United States. No wireless carrier has announced that it is offering this model, and Nokia's online store only lists it as "coming soon". Still, the company says that this smartphone will have "broader availability building up quickly in several markets."
It missed its originally scheduled launch back in December when Nokia realized at the last minute there was a problem with the hardware.
Nokia E7 Overview
This smartphone will feature a slide-and-tilt display and a large sliding keyboard. The 4-inch, AMOLED display will have a 640 x 360 pixel resolution.
The E7 is going to run the latest version of the Symbian OS, and come with a range of business-oriented software, allowing users to work on Microsoft Office files via the Quickoffice app. It will also support Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
This phone will be able to connect to the 3G bands used in the United States (AT&T and T-Mobile) as well as the ones used in the rest of the world. It is also going to include Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.
The E7 is going to include an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash as well as a front-facing VGA camera for video conferencing.
Other features will include a USB-to-go port, an HDMI video-out port, and a 1200 mAh battery.
This Nokia model will sell for EUR 495 in Europe.
