A TeleNav GPS app for the Verizon iPhone 4 will be available in the iTunes store shortly after the launch of Apple's smartphone on February 10.
The navigation software will have a couple of key features that could set it apart from other recently released GPS apps, such as:
TeleNav’s system will also feature 3D map images, similarly to the recently released Verizon VZ Navigator for Android OS phones.
Price
The TeleNav GPS app will be available in two varieties: an advanced version, which includes all of the features mentioned above, and a standard version that only includes the GPS map and local search capabilities.
In either form, the app is free to download, and all users will have access to the advanced version free of charge for the first 30 days. After 30 days, users can access the standard version at no cost, or can pay either $2.99 for a month or $21.99 for a year of access to the advanced functions.
The monthly and yearly fees for TeleNav are unusually low for a paid navigation service with real-time turn-by-turn spoken directions.
