CONTEST: Chris Dunphy of PalmSource "Name that PDA" Challenge

Chris Dunphy is the Director of Competitive Analysis at PalmSource. Chris is a geek. But that's okay, it's his job to be so. Chris basically has one of the coolest jobs in the world. He travels the globe and is responsible for knowing anything and everything about mobile devices in the U.S. and abroad. We talked to Chris while at COMDEX about the state of PalmSource and the PDA world in general.

Below is Chris and the 10 PDAs he had at COMDEX with him. He pulled these PDAs out of his bag like rabbits out of a magic hat -- they just kept coming. So to embarass him we took his mugshot and will now feature him in a contest.

To win the prize of your choice simply send an email message to info@bargainpda.com and use the subject contest answers, in the message state the case or prize you would like to win and then number 1 - 10 and which PDA you think is associated to each numbered device in the picture. We know that the picture shows these PDAs closed or in cases, but that will just add to the challenge and reward good guesses! A hint though: 8 of the devices are Palm OS based (#2 and #8 are not), and 8 of them are available in the U.S (#7 is only available in Asia and #1 which hasn't started shipping yet). One entry per person please, you can only enter and request to win one prize. Winners are based on who gets the most correct answers for their given prize category, if there is a tie in who gets the most correct PDAs for a particular prize then the earliest submission wins. On Monday 11/24/2003 we will post an article about the talk we had with Chris and what he had to say about Palm OS 6.0, the Nokia N-Gauge, a Palm OS 5 re-release for SmartPhones, a cool Palm SmartPhone available in China (it's in the picture, can you name it?), Palms latest announcement regarding MobileWorld, and what he thinks of Microsoft and the Pocket PC market. The contest for the cases will end next Tuesday 11/25/2003, at which point we will see who got the most devices right. There will be one winner for each prize -- so yes the less popular the prize the better your chances of winning that prize!
