One of the models unveiled at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow earlier this month was the HTC Incredible S, a high-end Android OS smartphone which will reportedly replace the original HTC Droid Incredible in Verizon's product lineup.
The original Droid Incredible was one of Verizon's most popular models last year, so it's no surprise this carrier plans to offer its successor.
Verizon has not yet officially announced plans to introduce this smartphone, but an inside source going through this company's product database has found a reference to product number HTC63503 which is described as the "Incred2".
HTC Incredible S Overview
As the Incredible S was officially announced earlier this month, and is already on sale in the U.K., its specifications are already known.
This device has much in common with the original Droid Incredible, but the new model sports a larger screen and a better camera.
The Incredible S includes a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) Super LCD display, up from 3.7-inches. This is set in a typical bar shape that's 4.7 by 2.5 by 0.5 inches.
It runs Google's operating system on a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor, and has 768 MB of RAM, 1.1 GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot.
This smartphone has an 8-megapixel camera vs. the 5-megapixel one in its predecessor. And, unlike the current model, it includes a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video conferencing.
Other features include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 1450 mAh battery.
