HTC Trophy to be Verizon's First Windows Phone 7 Model

Promotional posters and now in-the-wild pictures have confirmed the existence of the first Windows Phone 7 for Verizon: the HTC Trophy.

The Trophy is rumored to be coming to Verizon at some point in late March. An official announcement is expected from Verizon any day now, but the initial theories of that announcement coming today currently seem somewhat misguided as we've heard nothing yet.

A highly-anticipated update to Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 -- which will feature cut, copy, and paste abilities -- will reportedly come pre-loaded on the device.

Before this update, smartphones running Microsoft's latest mobile operating system couldn't be used on CDMA networks like Verizon's. Now that CDMA support is being added, Verizon and Sprint are both bringing out Windows phones.

An Overview of the HTC Trophy
The Trophy, of which a European version already exists, will be adjusted to work on CDMA networks, but will otherwise keep its existing specs, which include a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 8 GB of fixed flash storage, 512 MB of ROM and 576 MB of RAM.

This model has a bar shape without a physical keyboard, but it does have a 480 x 800 capacitive touchscreen that measures 3.8 inches.

Other features include a 5-megapixel camera, FM radio, 1300mAh battery, and 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity.

As it will run Microsoft's new mobile OS, this smartphone will include a suite of communication, entertainment, and productivity software. This includes tie-ins to the Zune music store and Xbox Live.
