Microsoft Has Postponed First Major Windows Phone 7 Update

An update to Windows Phone 7 that will bring support for cut, copy, and paste has been delayed. It was originally scheduled for release this week, but problems with an earlier update have pushed its debut back.

Microsoft has been promising this update for months after users complained about the lack of what they considered a major feature, and CEO Steve Ballmer recently said it was coming this month.

Before it was released, though, this company introduced a smaller system software update designed to make future updates easier to distribute and install. However, this has run into significant problems, with about 10% of Windows Phone 7 users unable to install it.

With this small update on hold, Microsoft has decided to push back the release of the more significant one that will bring cut, copy, and paste -- an update that goes by the codename "NoDo".

According to Microsoft Support:

The NoDo update was suppose to be released on March 7, but it has been postponed. We don't know a date yet, but Microsoft will push the update soon.
