Apple's recently released iOS 4.3 for iPhones and iPads received a tweak to its in-app purchasing policy, eliminating the 15-minute window that allowed users to make in-app purchases without entering a password directly after downloading an app.
The move is primarily aimed at alleviating the woes of some parents whose children were able to rack up huge charges during the 15-minute window.
Now, in addition to entering a password to initially purchase an app, passwords will also have to be re-entered to make purchases in the app. Apple hopes this move will remedy the situation and give parents piece of mind when letting their children play with iPhone apps.
This addition is just one of many new features in iOS 4.3. This update also allows iPhone 4's to act as mobile hotspots, includes the Nitro JavaScript Engine to improve Safari web browser performance, and provides support for iTunes Home Sharing.
Users can download iOS 4.3 by connecting their device to a PC or Mac running iTunes. It is available now.
