The T-Mobile G2x, the long-rumored American version of the dual-core LG Optimus 2X smartphone, apparently has a release date pegged down: April 20.
This high-end Android OS smartphone will have a dual-core processor and a 4-inch display.
TmoNews claims to have it on good authority that the April 20 release date is confirmed for both the T-Mobile G2x and the T-Mobile G-Slate. An official announcement of the release date for these devices will most likely come out of CTIA Mobile Life conference in Orlando next week.
More about the T-Mobile G2x
This upcoming T-Mobile smartphone should sport the same specs as the LG Optimus 2X, which runs Google Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) and is upgradeable to Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread).
It's powered by a 1GHz, dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip set and sports a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen. The Optimus 2X features HDMI mirroring, which means that any video streamed from the smartphone to external displays will be expanded to full, 1080p HD quality.
This device also comes with rear- and front-facing cameras -- the latter allowing users to video chat -- as well as an 8GB microSD memory card and a 1,500 mAh battery.
