A month after Sprint pulled the plug on the Samsung Epic 4G's upgrade to Android OS 2.2, the carrier is re-releasing the update -- theoretically without any of the bugs from the first time around.
Sprint was forced to suspend the update, originally planned to occur exactly one month ago on February 21, after some users discovered that it was causing problems with their phone's microSD card and calendar synchronization.
The upgrade to Froyo will give Epic users Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Bluetooth dialing, and allow app installation to external storage.
The upgrade is being packaged along with software that enables the use of Sprint ID, which, when applied by users, quickly customizes a device with apps and widgets based on a common theme. MTV, Yahoo, and ESPN are just a few examples of possible Sprint ID packs.
All Epic 4G users should receive a prompt to upgrade by March 24.
