Sidekick fans can start saving their money accordingly now, because T-Mobile has officially priced its 4G edition of the beloved device.
The reborn smartphone will be available to T-Mobile customers for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate card and with a two-year service contract.
Aside from its signature slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G will feature a 3.5-inch display and will be powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. Running Google Android OS 2.2 (Froyo), the Sidekick 4G will have full access to the Android Market as well as rear- and front-facing cameras, the latter for video chat via the pre-installed Qik software.
Socializing will be the name of the game with the Sidekick 4G, as it will have Sidekick Group Text, allowing users to engage in reply-all conversations with their friends and family. Other social networking features include pre-loaded Facebook and Twitter software.
Since this will be a 4G device, it will run on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network, giving it theoretical data download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.
The Sidekick 4G will be available in two colors, matte black or pearl magenta, and will be available "later this spring," according to T-Mobile's website.
