Slowly but surely, those Windows Phone 7 updates are coming.
After numerous delays and technical issues, Microsoft has begun rolling out its Windows Phone 7 updates to T-Mobile customers who have an HTC HD7 or a Dell Venue Pro today.
Two for the Price of One
There are two updates being released, the first being a preliminary one that is required to make any additional OS upgrades and should, ostensibly, make them go smoother.
When Microsoft first started rolling out this smaller update on other handsets, many users experienced technical problems, with about 10% of them failing to properly update. As a result of the failed system upgrades, Microsoft placed the updates on hold for a short period before attempting to distribute them again.
The second update coming to the HD7 and Venue Pro users today is the long-awaited NoDo update, which will bring cut, copy, and paste functions to the Windows Phone 7 OS. Considered by many a key feature that was left out of the Windows Phone 7 OS, the NoDo update was initially scheduled to be released on March 7 before being pushed back on account of the first, smaller update being put on hold.
