A number of high-end smartphones are expected to debut from Verizon Wireless in April. This includes the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and HTC Droid Incredible 2, as well as the Samsung Droid Charge and HTC Trophy.
A leaked roadmap of this carrier's upcoming models has appeared on the Web, and it shows the exact dates when three Android OS-based devices and one Windows Phone are going to hit store shelves.
Verizon has already officially committed to releasing the Xperia Play and the Droid Charge, though not under that exact name. The other two are only known from unofficial reports.
One Each Thursday
On the first Thursday of this month, April 7, Verizon the roadmap says that Verizon is planning to introduce the Samsung Droid Charge. This is in-line with previous reports for the launch date for this model, which will be the second to support this carrier's 4G LTE network, and will also include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display.
Exactly one week later will supposedly be the debut of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, a game-oriented smartphone running the Android OS. This will feature a large Touchscreen and a set of dedicated gaming controls.
The leaked roadmap indicates that the HTC Trophy will debut on April 21. This is expected to be Verizon's first model running Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.
The last Thursday of the month will allegedly be the release of the HTC Droid Incredible 2, a successor to the very popular Android OS smartphone that launched last year.
No prices for these models are available yet.
