Bluestreak Technology announced today that the company has partnered with the European wireless carrier Orange to develop an Orange Cinema Series video on-demand application for Android OS phones and tablets.
Those who have a capable Android device and are also subscribed to the Orange service will be able to download the media.
Bluesteak said the downloaded media and movies can be watched while offline for up to 30 days from the "broadcasted" date.
The company worked with Labgency to develop the application and framework, VisualOn to create the media player, and AuthenTec to develop the digital rights management and protection of the software.
Addressing the Android-only issue, Bluestreak cited that there are future plans with Orange to make the Cinema Series application and service available on "non-Android powered devices" by the end of this year.
