New Details on the HTC Droid Incredible 2: Worldphone, 16 GB of Storage

A document leaking out of Verizon Wireless has revealed some new information about the HTC Droid Incredible 2, the follow-up to one of this carrier's most popular Android OS models from last year. It will supposedly have more storage than its very popular predecessor, and have global roaming capabilities, too.

The original Droid Incredible shipped with 8 GB of internal storage. The upcoming model reportedly will be bundled with a 16 GB microSD memory card.

A Worldphone, Too
The newly leaked document also indicates that the Droid Incredible 2 will be a worldphone. Verizon's cellular network uses the CDMA standard, while most countries only have networks using a rival standard: GSM. This means that a majority of Verizon's phones can only make calls outside of the U.S. in relatively few countries.

To help remedy this problem, the carrier offers a number of worldphones, which support both CDMA and GSM networks. This allows them to be used throughout Europe, S. America, and other regions. 

HTC Droid Incredible 2 Preview
A few months ago, HTC took the wraps off the HTC Incredible S. Since then, many people have been waiting for Verizon to make it official that it's going to offer this device as the Droid Incredible 2. The Incredible S has much in common with the original Droid Incredible, but the new model sports a larger screen, a better rear-facing camera, and adds a front-facing one.

This model includes a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) Super LCD display, up from 3.7-inches. This is set in a typical bar shape that's 4.7 by 2.5 by 0.5 inches.

It runs Google's Android OS on a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, and has 768 MB of RAM, 1.1 GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot. This smartphone has an 8-megapixel camera vs. the 5-megapixel one in its predecessor and it includes a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video conferencing. Other features include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, DLNA, and a 1450 mAh battery.
