T-Mobile G2x, LG G-Slate Now in a Store Near You

The T-Mobile G2x debuted last week online, and this cutting-edge Android OS smartphone can now be found in this carrier's brick-and-mortar stores. T-Mobile is also launching the LG G-Slate, an Android-based tablet, today.

The G2x is one of the most advanced smartphones on the market, thanks to its 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 4G, and support for HDMI mirroring. The device runs Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) now, with plans for an upgrade to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) sometime in the future.

T-Mobile's second tablet, the LG G-Slate, sports an 8.9-inch Touchscreen which is 3D-capable, though glasses are required. It runs Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) on the same NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor as the G2x, and features include 32GB of storage and front- and rear-facing cameras.

The T-Mobile G2x costs $200 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. The LG G-Slate, on the other hand, is $530 with a two-year agreement and $100 MIR.

Despite their different names, both these devices are actually made by LG. The G2x is a re-branded version of the LG Optimus 2X.
