HTC Doubleshot Cutting-Edge Smartphone Could Be Coming this Summer

A number of unconfirmed reports in the last few days have revealed many of the details of the HTC Doubleshot. Not all of the specifications have come to light yet, but many of the major ones have.

It will apparently be a cutting-edge device, judging by its processor, which will have two cores running a 1.2GHz each. Only a few handsets with dual-core processors have been released so far, and those run at 1GHz.

The Doubleshot will reportedly have a physical keyboard and an 800 x 480 (WVGA) display, though the exact design of this device is not yet known. A horizontally-oriented slider is the typical arrangement, but other options are possible.  

This HTC model will run Google's Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), and will include a 6 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and Bluetooth 3.0. The rest of its specifications remain a mystery at this point, but considering its other features, this is unlikely to be a "bare bones" model.

The HTC Doubleshot will supposedly debut in July, and is headed for T-Mobile USA. It could be the replacement for the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, as previous models in the myTouch series have had coffee-related code-names. If so, then this smartphone will likely be able to connect to this carrier's 4G network.
