T-Mobile is holding a special deal on the HTC HD7, this carrier's only model running Microsoft Windows Phone 7. For today and tomorrow only, this high-end smartphone can be purchased with no money down with a two-year service contract.
The HD7 normally sells for $150 with contract, but T-Mobile is waiving the initial cost on April 27 - 28. However, this deal is only available on the carrier's website, not in its retail stores.
This sale could be related to AT&T's plan to introduce in the near future its own version of this smartphone, which it is calling the HD7S. As it stands now, T-Mobile is the exclusive provider of the HD7 in the United States.
HTC HD7 Overview
This Windows Phone debuted in the fall, and recently received an update to the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system. It is well supplied with high-end features, starting with a 4.3-inch WVGA (800 x 480) capacitive, multi-touch display.
To take advantage of its large screen and kickstand, T-Mobile bundles the HD7 with an app for watching Netflix streaming movies, as well as T-Mobile TV for watching live television programs.
This model runs Windows Phone 7 on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It has 16 GB of built-in storage for holding music, video, and other files.
The HTC HD7 supports T-Mobile's 3G network, but it doesn't support this carrier's faster 4G service. In addition, the device includes Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, and an A-GPS receiver. A 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD video capture is also included.
