Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone Now Available to AT&T Customers

AT&T customers can now purchase a version of the Dell Venue Pro that fully supports their carrier. This high-end device running Windows Phone 7 includes a large screen and a sliding keyboard.

This smartphone is not being offered directly by AT&T, and it does not appear on this company's website. Instead, it's available through Dell's webstore, where it is being sold with AT&T service.  

A version of the Venue Pro for T-Mobile subscribers debuted last year. Either version of this device sells for $100 with a two-year contract. Dell also offers an unlocked non-contract version that goes for $500.

Dell Venue Pro Overview
This Windows Phone has a 4.1-inch, WVGA (800 x 480) AMOLED capacitive Touchscreen and a sliding keyboard. This isn't the only slider running Microsoft's new mobile operating system, but it is the only one with a portrait-oriented keyboard rather than a landscape-oriented one.

It runs Windows Phone 7 on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and includes 8 GB of internal storage. Like all devices running Microsoft's new operating system, it includes a collection of communication and productivity software, as well as apps that tie in to the Xbox and Zune services.

The Venue Pro supports with T-Mobile's 3G network or AT&T's, but not their 4G ones. It also includes Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver. in addition, this smartphone has a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, a 1400 mAh battery, and an FM tuner.

But Wait, There's More
AT&T customers will soon have another Windows Phone option, as the carrier is prepping the HTC HD7S, a slightly re-branded version of the HD7 which T-Mobile released last year.

And, of course, AT&T already has three models running Microsoft's mobile OS: the HTC Surround, Samsung Focus, and LG Quantum. All of these hit store shelves last fall.
