T-Mobile has been vague about when the HTC Sensation 4G is going to be released, but information leaking out of this carrier indicates that this cutting-edge Android smartphone will be on the market in a little under a month.
According to an internal T-Mobile document that has been made public, the Sensation is going to be introduced on Wednesday, June 8. A separate leak from the retailer Target gives a release date of June 12, but T-Mobile could be making this store wait a few days after the carrier launch.
The Target leak was also the source of the price for this upcoming smartphone: $200 with a two-year contract. It's not clear if a mail-in rebate will be required to get this price. The non-contract cost has not yet been revealed.
HTC Sensation 4G Preview
This upcoming model has drawn attention with its cutting-edge featureset. This starts with a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super-LCD touchscreen.
The Sensation will run Google Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) on a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The HTC Sense 3.0 user interface will be layered atop Google's standard UI. This device will offer 1 GB of internal storage as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional capacity.
It will also have a rear-facing 8 megapixel camera that can record 1080p video at 30 fps. It's not clear if this model will have a front-facing camera.
This HTC device will naturally support T-Mobile's 4G HSPA+ Wireless Network (14.4 Mbps download, 5.76 upload) and have Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, and DLNA. Other features will include a 768 MB of RAM, 1520 mAh battery, an FM radio, and a range of sensors like ambient light, digital compass, gyroscope, and G-sensor.
