T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide 3D Smartphone Could Debut in July

3D may have begun its slow proliferation throughout portable devices, but how many of them can say that they support 1080p 3D recording and playback? None of them can… at least not until July.

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide, also known as the HTC Doubleshot, is rumored to be coming sometime in July (possibly July 9), according to a leaked report. One of its defining features is that, unlike most devices — which only feature 720p 3D recording and playback — the myTouch 4G Slide will have support for 1080p 3D. There are also codecs provided for 3D playback on the device, which suggests that the smartphone may feature a 3D screen.

This high-end handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz, dual-core CPU paired with the Adreno 220 GPU. Though it will be an Android device like its predecessor, last year's T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, which version of Google's operating system it will run has yet to be confirmed.

Although no images of this model have leaked out yet, it's expected to be a slider, like the previous version. It will reportedly sport a 3.7-inch WVGA LCD screen and 768 MB of RAM, along with a front-facing VGA camera and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. In addition to its 720p/1080p 3D capabilities, the rear camera will also support 720p/1080p 2D recording.

Other features are going to include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, an integrated FM receiver/transmitter, and dual microphone support for noise cancellation. The myTouch 4G Slide will support HSDPA Category 10 for download speeds up to 14.4 Mbps, and HSUPA Category 6 for upload speeds up to 5.75 Mbps, according to pocketnow.

Pricing for the myTouch 4G Slide has yet to be disclosed, and may have to wait for an official announcement for the device from T-Mobile.
