AT&T Getting the Mid-Range Pantech Crossover

Pantech is debuting its first Android smartphone available to U.S. customers, the Pantech Crossover, which will be available from AT&T quite soon. The device won't really excel in any avenue, but rather sport middle-of-the-road specs at a reasonable price.

It is going to feature Android OS 2.2 (Froyo), a popular albeit slightly older version of Google’s smartphone operating system. The Crossover will also have a 3.1-inch Touchscreen and a sliding physical QWERTY keyboard. It will include a rear-facing 3 megapixel camera, weighs in at 5.15 ounces, and measure 4.5 x 2.3 x 0.6 inches.

On the inside, the smartphone will have a 600 MHz processor thumping away, and come with a pre-installed 2 GB microSD card. The Crossover’s microSD slot can support cards up to 32 GB. It is going to feature a micro USB port, 3.5mm headset jack, voice recognition, accelerometer, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), and 3G (HSPA).

All told, the Crossover should get about five hours of battery life while in use, and 360 hours on standby with its 1500 mAh Lithium-ion battery.

Price and Availability
The Pantech Crossover will cost $70 with a two-year contract. It is going to arrive on AT&T's website and in this carrier's stores on Sunday, June 5.
