Hulu Plus Now Available for a Lucky Few Android Smartphones

An Android version of the Hulu Plus streaming video service has gone into limited availability. This allows users to watch a selection of TV shows.

The Hulu website gives access to recent episodes of many TV programs. However, the companies behind this free service block access to all mobile devices. Hulu Plus is the company's mobile option, and it has some notable differences from the Web-based version: it is a stand-alone app, and it requires an monthly subscription fee. 

This software offers a selection of new TV shows -- but not all that are on the full version of Hulu -- as well as whole seasons of many classic programs. A complete listing of what's available can be found on the Hulu website.

A version of this software for the iPhone was introduced last year and Hulu has now started rolling out a version for Android smartphones. The first phase includes support for the Google Nexus One, Samsung Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid 2, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix 4G.

Availability
Hulu Plus for devices running Google's operating system can now be found in the Android Market. The app is free, and there's a 7-day free trial. After that the $8 a month fee starts.
