Verizon Wireless Launches Significantly Improved Motorola Droid 3 Today

Verizon Wireless has launched the next-generation Motorola Droid 3, and it is available now exclusively at Verizon's website. This new edition has a better screen, keyboard, and processor.

Like previous iterations of the Droid, the latest model features a slide-out, QWERTY keyboard, but this one is extra roomy with five rows of keys, up from four rows. It also has a 4-inch qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen, larger and higher resolution than the 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) one in its predecessors. 

Under the hood, it is powered by a dual-core, 1 GHz processor and runs Google Android OS 2.3, aka Gingerbread. This is accompanied by an array of mobile applications, like a web browser, email software, turn-by-turn navigation, and much more.

The Droid 3 also comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capabilities. There's also a front-facing camera for stills and video chatting. Other features include mirror mode, which allows users to view and share media on a larger screen via the phone's HDMI port.

This is a global phone, which means that users can receive wireless voice and data service in more than 200 countries.  It supports Verizon's 3G network, but does not include 4G LTE.

This smartphone is enterprise-ready, thanks to a host of features like remote data wipe, device and SD card encryption, and preloaded Quickoffice and Citrix GoToMeeting.

Price & Availability
The Motorola Droid 3 is priced at $200 with a new two-year agreement, and while it is currently sold exclusively on verizonwireless.com, it will be made available at Verizon Wireless Communications stores starting on Thursday, July 14.
