Google+ Social-Networking Service Now Available as an iPhone App

Several weeks after Google introduced an Android version of its new social networking service, there's now an iPhone version. This helps broaden the reach of Google+, which has the formidable task of trying to go head-to-head with Facebook.

The highlight of this new service is "Circles", groups of people that the user establishes and shares posts with. The idea is to make it easy for someone to share status updates with select group(s) of people that they know, just not all of them. For example, they can brag about the wild party they went to the night before to their friends, but not their parents -- something that's not possible with Facebook.

In addition, Google+ has all the standard social-networking features. Users can post their thoughts along with images and video. 

Price & Availability
The iPhone version of this app is available for free now on the iTunes App Store. It is free, and so is Google+. It's not known if a version designed for the iPad is in development. 

Using the app requires a membership in this service, something that is not yet easily available. Google is still testing out this new offering, and is slowly adding new members. Those wishing to receive an invite can request one.
