Sprint Premier customers might be feeling a short-changed right about now.
The Photon 4G, the latest high-end smartphone from Motorola -- the first 4G Motorola device on Sprint's network -- previously had a scheduled release date of July 31, with Sprint Premier customers being given early access to purchase the phone three days before the rest of the public. Now that July 28 has arrived, however, it appears that anybody who wants to get their hands on the Photon 4G, not just the Sprint Premier members, can do so by ordering it through Sprint's website.
Cutting-Edge Features
The Photon 4G plays host to a number of powerful features, including a 1 GHz, Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and a 4.3-inch, qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen. Running Google Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), the device includes 16GB of on-board memory and a microSD memory card slot.
This smartphone can be connected to Sprint's WiMAX network, plus it has international roaming capabilities. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS are also included.
It is going for $200 with a new two-year contract on Sprint's website. It's not clear when this model will be in the carrier's retail stores.
