While people in the U.S. patiently await the arrival of the Galaxy S II, Samsung has divulged that the smartphone will be coming to more than just the nation's top three carriers.
Though we already knew the Galaxy S II would be distributed by Verizon, AT&T and Sprint -- under the names Samsung Function, Attain and Within, respectively -- it appears the handset will also be released by T-Mobile, Cellular South, Metro PCS and US Cellular. According to Samsung's website, the company has created a sign-up sheet for the device so people in the U.S. can be notified when the phone will be released by each carrier.
While the news of additional carriers has neither been confirmed nor denied by Samsung it does seem logical for the company to dispense the phone to multiple carriers after it experienced such success with the original Galaxy S.
With leaked photos of the AT&T Attain sporting a sliding keyboard and Sprint's Within passing through the FCC, Brighthand is itching to see what will come next in the saga of Samsung's best selling smartphone. All versions, whatever their names, are expected to have a dual-core processor, 8MPx camera, and front-facing 2.0MP camera.
