A new leaked flyer from Sprint has revealed the prices for RIM’s new BlackBerry devices, with the Bold 9930 topping the list.
The new BlackBerry Bold 9930 will go for $250 with a two-year agreement from Sprint. The handset is going to sport a 2.8-inch 640 x 480 (VGA) touchscreen up top with a physical QWERTY keyboard below. The 9930 will also feature a 5MP rear-facing camera and be powered by a single-core 1.2GHz processor running on BlackBerry OS 7.
The BlackBerry Torch 9850 also appeared on the flyer with a price tag of $150. This is going to be a full Touchscreen device and could fend well in the market due to its relatively low cost.
The leak also confirmed the $100 mid-range price of the Android-based Samsung Conquer 4G, which was announced recently.
The Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 are a part of RIM’s new line of handsets which will be supported by over 225 carriers. We can only expect other carriers will price this version of the Bold at a similar point, which could severely hinder sales for the RIM smartphone. The Bold may face hesitation from consumers for its above average cost. While a price has not been set for the Bold 9900, we here at Brighthand can't wait to get our hands on the BlackBerry Bold 9930 to examine if the smartphone is worth its $250 asking price.
