Just a few days after the BlackBerry Bold 9930 debuted from Verizon, now its brethren, the BlackBerry Bold 9900, is available at T-Mobile.
While the smartphone won’t be offered to the general public until August 31, business customers will be able to get the device during a special pre-sale beginning today, August 17. The Bold 9900 is retailing for $300, after a $50 mail-in rebate, with a two-year contract.
It is no surprise that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 came to T-Mobile first, since the carrier announced its commitment to the device back in May. The handset runs on the carrier’s HSPA+ networks and has been dubbed T-Mobile’s “first 4G BlackBerry smartphone.”
BlackBerry Bold 9900 Preview
The new RIM device has the usual enterprise features plus all the benefits of OS7, like a revamped browser, 720p HD video recording, support for augmented reality applications, a new Quick Access area and the Liquid Graphics interface. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 also features the latest version of BlackBerry Messenger and an updated Social Feeds app.
The handset sports a 2.8-inch, VGA (640 x 480) 287 dpi capacitive display set above a small thumb-keyboard and optical trackpad. This is the first Bold to have a touchscreen, plus it includes a 5MP camera, 8GB of internal memory, GPS and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
AT&T has also committed to distributing the Bold 9900, while Sprint will compete with Verizon and offer the BlackBerry Bold 9930 beginning August 21.
