Thanks to a new leak detailing several of Samsung’s upcoming Android, Windows Phone and bada devices, we now have a good idea of what the company’s big runners this fall will be.
As for Android, the leak revealed nine new devices, with seven of those being handsets. While majority of the smartphones will be powered by Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), one will be based on the previous version, OS 2.2 (Froyo)
However, one phone stands out because it will run the upcoming version of Android, code-named Ice Cream Sandwich. The Samsung 19250 (W48) is going to sport a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED (1280 x 720) display and feature a 5MP camera. This will be the first Samsung smartphone to run the this version of the Android OS.
The Samsung 19220, 19210, 18150, S5610 and GT-S5360 are all set to run Gingerbread, according to the leak. The Samsung S5610 (W42) will feature the smallest display of the group, measuring in at just 2.4-inches. The handset will come equipped with a 5MP camera, 150MB of storage and HSDPA.
Stocked with a 2MP camera and 3-inch QVGA screen, the codenamed GT-S5360 (W42) will come sans a keyboard. Next, the GT-18150 (W40) bumps up the specs a bit to a 3.7-inch display (480 x 800), 4GB of internal memory, a single-core 1.4GHz processor and a 5MP camera.
As for the big guns, if this leak is indeed legitimate, Samsung will unveil the 4.5-inch Super AMOLED GT-19210 (W48), which is said to support 4G networks alongside GPRS, EDGE and UMTS. Another highlight is the GT-19920 (W43). With a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, the GT-19920 will feature a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and an 8MP camera.
Samsung’s new entry-level phone, powered by Froyo, will sport a 2.8-inch display, QWERTY keyboard, a 3MP camera and is rumored to be dubbed the Galaxy Pro Plus.
Despite its current litigation facing the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung is supposedly working on a 7-inch slate codenamed P6200 (W44). The Android OS 3.2 (Honeycomb) tablet will have a Super AMOLED (1024 x 600) display, 3MP and 2MP cameras, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity. This device will also be offered in a Wi-Fi only version.
Samsung’s first Windows Phone Mango device could be the Samsung i8350 Omnia W. The handset is expected to launch in October, which conveniently correlates with Microsoft’s leaked Mango launch plan. The smartphone is said to offer a 3.7-inch WVGA display, 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera.
The Taiwanese-company has commented on the leak, claiming that while the company continues to work on new devices, the details being cited are not accurate.
