HTC has just announced a Sept. 1st London event to unveil what's next for the company. This could be the debut of new Android or Windows Phone smartphones, or maybe a new tablet.
The party, which is open to the public on HTC UK's Facebook page, will run from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., and promises food, drinks and some phone treats. Those planning on attending must be over 18 and RSVP, as the event is on a first come, first served basis.
While HTC has kept mum on what devices will be revealed at the party, the rumor mill is already turning, with speculations that the company will unveil a European version of the Ruby, the smartphone that is set to launch on October 26 and support T-Mobile's 4G HSPA+ network. The handset will feature a 4.3-inch (960 x 540) LCD display, an 8MP camera and a dual-core processor.
But maybe HTC will decide to divulge information on some other big ticket phones. Does that September 1st date sound familiar to you? If so, it?s because that's the same day Microsoft is said to debut its Windows Phone Mango. Coincidence? Perhaps, or strategic timing by HTC to disclose its Mango devices.
Then again HTC could steer clear of smartphones and reveal its Puccini tablet instead. The slate, which was just re-branded the HTC Jetstream by AT&T, has received plenty of buzz in recent weeks.
As has HTC, which just purchased 51% stake in Beats Technology, in an effort to bring high-performance sound to smartphones. The first model with this technology could be on the docket for Sept. 1.
As always Brighthand will follow this story closely and report on any developing details.
