After a summer of suspense, the LG Thrill 4G will be coming to AT&T on Sept. 4, according to a tweet from the carrier.
The glasses-free 3D handset was confirmed to be heading to AT&T back in July, though no date was specified at that time. The confirmation had also promised the device would officially sell for $99, though the price will most likely vary among retailers.
The smartphone will be a re-branded edition of the LG Optimus 3D, a handset unveiled at the CTIA conference earlier this year. The AT&T version is currently promised to come pre-loaded with 3D games, videos and other apps aimed specifically at U.S. customers, including N.O.V.A., Let’s Golf 2 and Asphalt 6.
The Thrill 4G will offer dual-core processing, as well as dual-channel technology. The Android OS 2.2-enabled device is going to weigh in at 5.7 ounces and sport a 4.3-inch screen. It is going to include 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and feature a microSD slot allowing an additional 8GB of memory.
This announcement comes almost a month after RadioShack claimed the device would be released by Aug. 21. According the electronics retailer the LG model will sell for $80 with a two-year contract, or $550 sans the contract.
