AT&T Introduces LG Thrill 4G with 3D Display

Today is the launch of the LG Thrill 4G, the first smartphone from AT&T with a 3D display. This Android-based device also packs a dual-core processor and dual 5MP cameras.

It has a 4.3-inch WVGA (800 x 480) Touchscreen that can show 3D movies, games, and other content without requiring the user to wear special glasses. In addition, this device can take 3D images and video.

It includes a connection to YouTube 3D, and AT&T is bundling some 3D games, including N.O.V.A., Let’s Golf 2 and Asphalt 6. 

Android Inside
There's more to the Thrill than just 3D, though; it's a high-end smartphone. It runs Google's Android OS on a 1GHz dual-core processor, and comes with 16GB of storage capacity -- 8GB on-board plus an 8GB microSD card.

This device comes with the standard suite of Android Apps for web browsing, email, navigation, and more. And AT&T is bundling its own software such as U-verse Live TV.

It is able to play video back in high definition through its HDMI-out port, or stream content wirelessly through DLNA technology. Its rear-facing cameras can handle 1080p video when recording in 2D, plus there's a front-facing camera.

This LG model supports AT&T's 4G HSPA+ service, and it was Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The device includes 1500mAh battery. 

Price and Availability
AT&T is charging $100 for the LG Thrill 4G with a two-year contract. Forgoing the contract raises the price to $450.

The retailer Radio Shack is currently offering this smartphone for $80 to new AT&T customers, or current customers who are upgrading can get it for $50.
