Now all Android smartphone owners can download Citrix GoToMeeting, an app that allows users to check in and participate in online meetings, for free via Android Market.
Although the Motorola Droid 3 was the first Android smartphone to come preloaded with GoToMeeting, as well as Citrix Receiver, the app was previously only available to iOS devices. Now, however, all Android users can download this software for free, though their handsets must be running Android 2.2 and above, and must feature a 1GHz processor or higher.
Consumers can tap the GoToMeeting icon or click a link in an email to join meetings, and can view pinch-to-zoom content such as presentations and reports. Users can also interact with presenters or voice opinions through the VoIP integrated audio and mic. The app can be viewed in either portrait or landscape mode and supplies users with a list of meeting attendees. However, those wishing to host meetings must use the desktop software.
The app has already been optimized for the Apple iPad and iPhone, already passing 250,000 downloads, so perhaps it is just a matter of time before the business-friendly app hits Android tablets.
