AT&T Takes the Wraps Off Two Windows Phone 7.5 Smartphones from Samsung

AT&T has pre-announced two upcoming smartphones from Samsung, dubbed the Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash, which will feature Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.5. These will be follow-up to last year's Samsung Focus.

The Focus S will sport a larger 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. AT&T promises the handset will support 4G capabilities, though the carrier neglected to specify whether the Focus S would run on its LTE or HSPA network.

Expected to pack a 1.4GHz processor, the Focus S will feature an 8MP rear-facing camera in addition to a 1.3MP front camera. It appears the Focus S will be something close to a Windows Phone 7.5 version of Samsung's Galaxy S II, but with a slower processor. 

A smaller model than the Focus S, the Samsung Focus Flash will feature a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. The smartphone will come equipped with a 1.4GHz processor, a 5MP rear-facing camera and a front-facing shooter. 

AT&T did not reveal pricing or availability dates for these models at this time, other than to say the Focus S will be released this fall.

The original Focus will be receiving a Windows Phone 7.5 upgrade at some point this fall. Other models are expected to start receiving their upgrades on Sept. 15.
