HTC Rhyme to Reach Verizon Sept. 29, Offers a Feminine Touch

HTC has just unveiled its latest mid-range Android smartphone for Verizon Wireless, dubbed the HTC Rhyme. This phone has been designed to appeal to women.

The Rhyme, previously known as the Bliss, will be a petite plum-colored phone measuring in with a 3.7-inch WVGA display. The HTC smartphone will feature a single-core 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, a non-removable battery and dual 5MP/ VGA cameras.

The device will also sport a microSD expansion slot and will come equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS radios. The Android 2.3-based phone will have a “next-generation” Sense UI and will also feature 4GB of internal storage space.

In line with rumors, the Rhyme will be paired with a "Charm Indicator," which is a bubble that glows purple when the phone rings. Other accessories include a workout armband and a wireless dashboard speaker for the car.

Pre-orders for the plum phone will start Sept. 22, with the device set to retail for $200 with a two-year contract, though that price includes all accessories. The HTC Rhyme will hit U.S. stores Sept. 29, with a silver version arriving in Asia and Europe next month.
