T-Mobile's HTC Amaze 4G Will Focus on its Camera

One of T-Mobile's next Android smartphones, the HTC Amaze 4G, is no longer a rumor thanks to an official announcment this afternoon.

The Amaze 4G, which will be an upgrade of the myTouch 4G sans the sliding keyboard, is going to sport a 4.3-inch (960 x 540) display and will feature a rear-facing 8MP camera, in addition to a front-facing 2MP shooter.

The rear camera will sport some advanced features like SmartShot, which will take 5 photos and compile the best parts to create the a single image. Users will also be able to create panoramas, and this phone will even be able to judge the best images in a group and highlight them.

Beyond the Camera
The high-speed smartphone will also pack a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor and 1GB RAM. As for its OS, the device will run Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread with a HTC Sense 3.5 UI on top. 

This will be T-Mobile’s branding of the HTC Ruby, and it will run on the carrier’s HSPA+ network and support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The HTC Amaze 4G is going to launch on Oct. 12, the same day as this carrier's version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The HTC model will come in at $260 with a two-year contract.
