Samsung Omnia W to Debut with Windows Phone 7.5

Samsung has just officially announced the Omnia W, which will be the company’s first handset to debut with Windows Phone 7.5. 

The handset is bragged to feature an “elegant design,” according to Samsung’s press release, and is set to retail in October, though no specific date or price was mentioned. In addition, while Samsung plans to offer the Omnia W in Europe, CIS, Latin America, Africa and South East and South West Asia, nothing was said in regards to a U.S. release.

That being said, the Omnia W will measure in at 115.97 x 58.8 x 10.9 mm and will sport a 3.7-inch (800 x 480) Super AMOLED display. The handset will pack a 1.4GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. As for the other features, the Samsung-smartphone will come equipped with a VGA front-facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera, and will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. 

As mentioned, this device will be running the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, codenamed Mango. As a Windows Phone 7.5 handset , the Omnia W will include apps like the Phone People Hub, which has integration with social networking sites, Picture Hub, Music and Video Hub, as well as the Game Hub.
