T-Mobile Scans in the HTC Radar 4G, Its First Windows Phone 7.5 Handset

T-Mobile has announced its first Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone that will run on the carrier's HSPA+ 4G network.

The HTC Radar 4G will sport a 3.8-inch LCD display and will pack a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The smartphone will also feature a 5MP camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing shooter. The Windows-based handset will come with a suite of software from Microsoft, offering users apps like Microsoft Office Hub and Internet Explorer 9.

While the Radar is not as technologically advanced as its cousin, the HTC Titan, which will also run Windows Phone 7.5, it is a decent middle-class smartphone featuring the latest OS, codenamed "Mango". During Brighthand's recent hands-on time with the device its slower processor was evident only when zooming in and scrolling web sites.

HTC unveiled the Radar in the beginning of September at a London event. The handset will feature 8GB of storage capacity, though that is the maximum amount as Windows Phone 7.5 doesn't support removable media.

Pricing for the Radar hasn't been announced, though T-Mobile promised it will be on store shelves in time for the holidays.
